Directions

Bo’mains Farm is situated between the towns of Bo’ness and Linlithgow. The postcode, for satellite navigation devices, is EH49 7RQ.

There are regular bus services to both towns from Edinburgh, Falkirk and Stirling – plus good taxi services. The nearest mainline train station is at Linlithgow less than 2.5 miles away.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

From M8
Exit at junction 4 and follow the signs for Linlithgow. From Linlithgow head for the A706 road for Bo’ness. Drive 1.5 miles to the top of the hill at the crossroads and take sharp left. Bo’mains Farm is on the right hand side. See route on Google Maps.

From Glasgow
Take the M80, following signs for Kincardine Bridge. Join the M9 motorway and head towards Edinburgh. Exit at junction 4 and head for Linlithgow. From Linlithgow head for the A706 to Bo’ness (north). Drive to the top of the hill. At a crossroads turn sharp left. Bo’mains Farm is first on the right hand side. See route on Google Maps.

From Edinburgh
Take the M9 motorway. Exit at Junction 3 and head for Linlithgow. Drive through the town. Take the first main road on the right for Bo’ness, the A706. Head north around 1.5 miles. At the top of the hill, turn sharp left. Bo’mains is just along the road – the first farm on the right. See route on Google Maps.

From the Queensferry Crossing/Fife
Follow the signs for the A904 to Bo’ness. Drive around 8 miles to the west. At the Champany Inn turn left for Linlithgow. Drive through the town to the first main road on the right for Bo’ness A706 from there it is 1.5 miles to the top of the hill at a crossroads. Turn sharp left and Bo’mains is the first farm on the right. See route on Google Maps.

WALKING

If you are walking the John Muir Way, Bo’mains is near the start of section six – which runs from Linlithgow Bridge to South Queensferry. Head out of Linlithgow Bridge, walking north towards Bo’ness. At the top of the hill the John Muir Way signs will point you westwards towards Kinneil Estate and Bo’ness. Instead turn right and head east along the road. Within a few yards you will reach Bo’mains Farm.
